Dual Boot Video Problems

Being somewhat paranoid but couldn't stop the impulse, I installed Vista as a clean install on portion of my second drive I set up just for that purpose. Now I can only watch videos when in Vista. This aapplies to all the players I have in the XP side:
BS Player Jet Audio Real Player Nero Player ( a dog anyway) and....Windows Media Player 11
It seems as if Vista has grabbed all the video hooks and will not let anyone else play. Has anyone else had the same problem?

Do I understand you correctly in that you have XP installed in a partion on one drive and it has none of its files in paratitions on the second drive. And on the other drive you have Vista insalled in a partition and it has none of its files in partitions on the first drive.? If the two installations are sharing a partiion on either drive for any files that I would expect that you would be having problems. "Lloyd Vickers" wrote in message

Yep...two completely independent drives

Although I also have two indpendent drives I allow the OS on drive 1 to store some files on drive 2 and vice versa and all of the partitions of the two drives have different drive letters and are accessable to either OS. The OS on my drive 1 is in "D" drive and the OS on my drive 2 in is "I" drive and I was trying to insure that you were set up the same way.
